Obama Panders to Political Base in Afghanistan Speech [Video]

As most pundits pointed out yesterday, President Obama's speech tonight on Afghanistan was for political purposes. War is an unfortunate circumstance and you certainly don't end it early to drum up support from your radical liberal base, as Obama did tonight [video below]. The President announced that 10,000 troops will be brought home from Afghanistan by the end of the year, with a total of 33,000 troops by the summer of 2012 - just in time for the presidential election. This would eliminate his surge of over 30,000 troops from just 18-months, a number lower than the 40,000 troops requested by the generals running the war. You don't play politics when it comes to war, and that's exactly what Obama did tonight.
