Botched Operation "Fast and Furious" Starting to Unravel; Stimulus Funded

Not be confused with the awful movie franchise, Operation "Fast and Furious" is one of the most serious situations involving the incompetent Obama administration. For those not familiar, also known as Project Gunrunner, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) ran a program to run guns with the hope they'd lead them to the pot of gold - Mexican criminals. This was authorized by and happened under the Obama administration, which is refusing to cooperate. This has connections to some of Obama's highest ranking people and may be bigger than Watergate. People need to held responsible - and Obama can't blame corporate jets this time.

After the ATF started the program, they didn't keep track of the weapons, which are now turning up in crime scenes, particularly the scene where a U.S. border agent was murdered, among many others. What we have now is refusal from the White House and the Justice Department to cooperate with the congressional investigation, led by Darrell Issa (R - CA), chairman of the House Oversight Committee. It's as if the guilty parties are refusing to take responsibility, like typical liberals.

On Independence Day, when most Americans were celebrating, ATF Acting Director Ken Melson came forward alone with his personal attorney, stating that he wanted to testify but the Justice Department wanted to delay his testimony. It's likely that Melson was saving his own tuchas, but he did answer all questions in full, which is extremely odd. In the end, it's almost guaranteed that the bigoted Attorney General Eric Holder played a heavy hand in Project Gunrunner. The type of wiretaps involved require approval from high ranking officials.

Over at Pajamas Media, they're reporting that someone in Congress knew of the program because funding for Operation Fast and Furious came from the phony $787 billion stimulus!

"H.R. 495 that I mentioned never made it out of committee, but it looks as it was to specifically fund Gunrunner. Instead portions of it were rolled into the stimulus package a month later. That text found in H.R.1 is:

For an additional amount for ‘State and Local Law Enforcement Assistance’, $40,000,000, for competitive grants to provide assistance and equipment to local law enforcement along the Southern border and in High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas to combat criminal narcotics activity stemming from the Southern border, of which $10,000,000 shall be transferred to ‘Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Salaries and Expenses’ for the ATF Project Gunrunner.

Notice that’s $40,000,000 for Southern border enforcement, $10,000,000 of which specifically for Project Gunrunner. What does $10 million pay for here? It didn’t hire any new agents that I am aware of."

What we have here is a massive coverup from the most incompetent, inexperienced group of ideological radicals that rivals Dick Nixon's Watergate scandal in comparison. There's a good chance that Eric Holder lied underoath, very likely with support from the White House. Two Americans are dead because of this program. It's highly unlikely that the media learned of this story before Eric Holder.

The other reason why this story is so huge? The Obama administration and his Democratic minions hate the Second Amendment - the right to bear arms. With a compliant liberal media that's not putting much, if any, attention on Project Gunrunner, there's a tremendous opportunity to get support for new gun laws by lying about the real situation. When it comes to destroying America's values, this White House is always two steps ahead. There's a reason that Fast and Furious has gone under the radar, and the American people, as well as the murder victims, need to know why.
