Why isn't it called White Friday?  The day after Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday and is really the kick off to the holiday shopping season, with the best deals available early in the morning.  But does this day have a hidden meaning and a hidden agenda around the term "black?"  Rev. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are outraged with this and have boycotted the day entirely.  Their argument was based on the notion that heavy discounts on hot items was a direct result of the racism that is spewing from this country.

"The black community condemns the day known in the white community as Black Friday," said Rev. Jackson.  "It's insulting to see these tremendous and outrageous price cuts on a day labeled as only for blacks."

This of course isn't the first time Rev. Jackson has played the race card before.  During the 1920's after the stock market crash and the term Black Tuesday was given to the day, him and Rev. Shapton have boycotted the stock market since the day hasn't been renamed.  "It's condescending to associate a crash of the U.S. financial system with the people of this great community," said Sharpton.  They're also upset about the placement of the black crayon in the Crayola crayon box set, saying it's offensive to be at the end of the box only next to one other crayon.

When asked what they would be doing this upcoming Black Friday, both responded they will be hitting the department stores to cash in on the huge sales.
