Alan Grayson's Unemployment Remarks Spark a Compelling Contest

E-mail Print PDF

When he's not in his room with padded walls, Congressman Alan Grayson can usually be found making incoherent comments every so often.  It's that time of the month again and Grayson forgot to take his medication.  The Democratic Congressman of Orlando again went into a perverted tirade on Capital Hill this week accusing Republicans of wanting to keep unemployed Americans, unemployed.  The repulsive slob stuck to the liberal talking points, calling Republicans the party of the rich.  At this point, any time Grayson speaks, we're just excited to hear what this creep has to say.

"There was no unemployment insurance back then.  There was no State benefits back then.  There was no help for the people who had no jobs.  All they could do, like my grandfather, in desperate straights, supporting a family of seven, was to go to the dump and desperately try to find something he could sell."

Desperate straights?* Grayson should be in a straight-jacket.

"That, my friends, is the America that the Republicans are trying to revive.  The America of desperate straights, and for them cheap labor.  The America where people have nothing, hope for nothing, and are desperate to live to the next day.  That is what the Republicans are trying to resurrect by blocking unemployment insurance day after day, week after week. and now month after month."

The disheveled slob is flat-out wrong.  Republicans simply tried to enforce accountability on the Democrats, who passed PAYGO, which forces Congress to be able to pay for any bill they pass.  At $34 billion, that was no easy task.  But who cares, they're liberals.  They'll find a way to redistribute money or they'll keep printing money until we're all sent to the rice fields, just like the good old Soviet Gulags.

Grayson's response led conservative media critic Dan Gainor to comment on Twitter, offering $100 to the first member of Congress who punches this "smarmy idiot Alan Grayson in (the) nose." Gainor is the vice president for the Media Research Center and later responded that he was joking, but he'd "love to see the video."

$100 to punch this menace in the nose?  Grayson doesn't need to get punched, this pathetic loser needs to go.  Orlando, please vote this creep out of office!

The unemployment benefits extension passed, thanks to the Republican moronic twins, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins.

*In reference to the emails and comments about desperate straights being misspelled, congratulations!  You've picked up on a spelling error, but don't get too excited because we were aware of the error, hence the straight jacket comment.  The source which gave the quote had it written as desperate straights, which we know is incorrect, but felt compelled to keep it as such because it was from a liberal website.  We've unlinked the source, which has since made the correction, but not cited the mistake.  So, to our liberal audience, great job and give yourself a pat on the back - we know you have mommy and daddy issues so this should come as a welcome gesture.  - The Loyal Opposition

just another demonstration of how STUPID Dummycrats are. As stupid as you are, I would not discuss anything with YOUR 7 year old..poor kid...

I guarantee that your 7-year old son turns out to be a transvestite pervert. He'll be able to thank his dad for that. Do you also tell him that the Soviet Union won the Cold War?

Also, stop dressing your son in women's clothes, other kids make fun of him in school.

Word of the wise, don't bring your kids into the mix. Your kid is already on the road to welfare city - he's a poverty pimp waiting in the wings.

Ok, so if we've proven one thing today, it is not that Republicans are the party of the rich (there are plenty of rich Democrats. Republicans are the party that supports tax cuts for the rich at the expense of things like unemployment insurance, or more pressingly, our crumbling infrastructure) but that they are the party of people who can't spell. It is "desperate straits," not "desperate straights." If you had even a third of the education that Alan Grayson had you would probably know that. Really, it is Republicans who are desperate; desperate to shut Grayson up because he is one of an extremely small number of Democrats who have the balls to call out Republicans in an effective way.

We wouldn't need so much unemployment insurance if business taxes weren't so high, because we wouldn't HAVE so much unemployment! Get to the ROOT of the problem, don't just throw a bandaid over it. I know of MANY rich democrats. Hmm, the first one that comes to mind is ol' former Prez Clinton who is paying 2 million, yes, that's $2,000,000, for his daughter's wedding. How many people could he help with that amount of money? That's just beyond ridiculous :x

If you want to be a have, rather than a have not, you must work for it, get a skill, an education and work your butt off. End of story. And no, no matter how hard you work, if you are an hourly worker at McDonalds, you probably aren't going to be a have. No one is going to pay you a lot for a skill that just about anyone can do.
