Congresswoman Schakowsky: Wealthy Have Benefited From "Things We All Paid For" and Should Pay Higher Taxes

For those not from Illinois, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D - IL) is a real treat.  She's one of 70 - yes, 70 - Democratic members of Congress that's a member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).  That's right, almost 40% of Democrats in Congress belong to the DSA and support an agenda that is anti-American.  Schakowsky is allowed out of her room with padded walls every now and then, where we get the pleasure of hearing her asinine comments on everything ranging from taxes to immigration to redistributing wealth.  The Daily Caller caught up with the congressional DSA member and discussed taxing the wealthy.  Like a typical liberal, Schakowsky believes it's the government that allows the wealthy to earn their income.

Her response is in lockstep with the crackpot Elizabeth Warren, who's running for the Senate in Massachusetts.  Both liberal elitists make an argument that truly shows how unintelligent and disconnected from reality they are.  We break down their theories in the linked article above.

Jan Schakowsky in her brilliance (and she's quite the looker!):

“The middle class and those who aspire to it have been sacrificing for the better part of 30 years right now and have seen their income go down and the share of taxes that they pay has been significant,” Schakowsky said, “and so I think that right now what we need to create fairness is to ask those who have benefited so much from, and from things that we have all paid for, for roads and the education of their workers and all the things that we all pay for.  I think it’s time for them to pay their fair share. This isn’t about revenge. This isn’t about punishment. This is just about fairness.”

Earlier in the year, Schakowsky proposed the Fairness in Taxation Act, where one element was that those making over $1 million would pay a 45% federal tax rate, which doesn't even include state and local taxes.  This removes the incentive for innovation, as an individual would be coughing up well over half of their earned income to the government when it's all said and done.  Fairness is irrelevant here, but it's a nice cover for liberal socialists.  Fairness and charity comes from the private sector, whether it's churches, non-profits or other entities.  Schakowsky and her DSA ilk want to use taxation as a means to redistribute wealth, ultimately to gain more power and control.  It's pretty straight forward.  Ask the people of Cuba how their government is working out for them - socialism DOESN'T WORK.
