President Obama is getting re-election support from familiar groups as he strives for a $1 billion campaign fund. OpenSecrets.org reports that U.S. government employees are among the biggest donors to his campaign, as Obama has exploded the size of government, along with employee's salaries under his tenure. Additionally, members of academia are another top donor group, showing how elitist university professors that teach in theory and not reality enjoy having a Marxist in charge.
While these stats are not surprising, they shed light on the psychological reciprocity enabled by liberals: we'll give you expanded entitlements for sitting around on your fat asses in return for votes. Academia is no surprise, as universities are riddled with Marxist crackpots that truly believe their utopian theory will work, if they just had more time and money - despite dictatorships and socialist dystopias failing at every corner. The government employees, based on how much the government has expanded under Obama, is another non-shocker.
Details from CNS News:
U.S. government employees and their families have thus far contributed $396,550 to President Barack Obama's reelection campaign, making them one of the top five sources of cash for the campaign to reelect the president, according to Opensecrets.org.
Employees of the U.S. State Department and their families have, by themselves, contributed $213,256 to the Obama reelection campaign. Standing alone, State Department employees and their families are the 17th largest contributors to the Obama campaign, ranking just above the employees and family members of Wells Fargo, who have contributed $202,216 to the Obama campaign.
By contrast, employees of five major banks and their families have been among the top sources of campaign funds for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
The academic community has also been very supportive of President Obama's reelection bid. With employees of the University of California and their families being the very top contributors to his campaign--having given the campaign a total of $703,781 in campaign contributions so far in this election cycle--and employees of Harvard and their families being the fourth largest contributors to the president's campaign.
Here, as calculated by OpenSecrets.org, are the top five organizations whose employees and employee family members have given the most to President Obama's reelection campaign:
1. University of California -- $703,781
2. Microsoft -- $544,445
3. Google Inc -- $526,009
4. Harvard University -- $431,860
5. U.S. Government -- $396,550
As for Google and Microsoft employees, that's a standard affair. The article also shows top donors to Mitt Romney's campaign, most of which are banks. The Obama despots will state that Romney is in bed with the banks and wants to roll back (illegal) regulations. Oddly enough, it was Obama in 2008 that received more donations from Wall Street than any other candidate in history.
It's interesting to see who is donating to who. In Obama's case, he's worked so hard to pay back his donors from the last election that it's no surprise he has the same morons lining up for him this time around.
