Department of Labor: Unemployment at 10.2%, But Broader Measure Puts It At 17.5%

The U.S. Department of Labor released its latest unemployment data, putting it at a 26-year high of 10.2%.  This of course comes after the passing of the stimulus, or Obama's payback bill, which American's were told by the Obama administration that if the bill passed, unemployment wouldn't exceed 8%.  As Obama continues to tout his saved or created slogan, the fact remains that people are losing their jobs.

House Starts Health Care Debate on Capital Hill

In the latest attempt of government takeover of the private sector, House Democrats started the health care debate on Capital Hill this morning.  In what will undoubtedly be labeled as historic, President Obama will make an appearance at the end of the debate to emphasize the importance of passing this radical bill, which will cut Medicare spending by $500 billion and cost Americans $1.2 trillion over the next ten years.

Fort Hood Shooter Yelled "Allah Akbar" Before Opening Fire

Yesterday Malik Nadar Hasan shot and killed 13 people while wounding 31 others, including himself at the Fort Hood military base in Texas.  Unconfirmed reports from suspects are saying that Hasan shouted "Allah Akbar" before opening fire, which translates from Arabic to "God is great."  This is typical of Islamic extremists before committing a suicide bombing or any other act that results in the death of someone for their religious cause.
