Mass Hysteria Over AIG Bonuses Obscures Simple Truths
"In effect, the US taxpayer had paid off AIG's gambling debts." The U.S. government went to great lengths to disguise where taxpayer money went from the first TARP bill. Why did they try to do this? Yet, the US citizen is more angry about the $165 million paid in bonuses, rather than being upset about the $173 BILLION given to AIG last fall.
