The underreported story of last week was the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) planned attempt to ban lead bullets because of a petition from radical environmental groups. There was supposed to be a two-month response period to the measure on the EPA's website, but it's now irrelevant. As of a few days ago when the story picked up significant momentum after being posted on the conservative Drudge Report's homepage. Essentially the EPA was caught trying to go through the back door to impose gun control and limit hunting at the request of liberal, anti-gun, environmental groups.
The EPA cited the fact that they don't have jurisdiction to weigh in on the Second Amendment. That's their story and they're sticking to it; however, there's more beneath surface. The EPA is headed by the looney Lisa Jackson, who's as far-Left as the undocumented President Obama himself. Under her authority, the EPA has listed carbon dioxide as a deadly emission - which it's not - so this type of a power grab, even though it seemed like a long shot, isn't too far-fetched. The reality is that the EPA was caught red-handed when conservative news sites, including Habledash, reported the otherwise hidden story.
The National Rifle Association (NRA) stated that this was in fact a back door attempt by the Obama administration to impose new gun laws - and the NRA was livid. The situation follows a narrative that Obama and his cronies are trying amend the right to bear arms, which the NRA has been watching over very closely. Nothing has come to fruition among the many rumors floating around, but this attempt by the EPA through lead bullets caused the NRA to investigate further. When they were told that the EPA rejected the more than 100-page request, they issued a press release that emphasized the EPA denied the petition to ban lead bullets.
What we do know is that liberal activist groups, especially the environmentalists, hate the Second Amendment and want it eliminated. This petition was an attempt by the enviro-Nazi's at the EPA to circumvent Congress to get their way. It's happened before and it will happen again. It's situations like these that show the true motives of one of the most radical administrations in history.
